As part of a family compound, the Bungalow hugs the water's edge and is the main house, with views out to the bay and across to Blue Hill Mountain. Brushed stone walkways, laced with gardens and yard art, make for a truly picturesque setting. Inside, this delightfully charming and comfortable cottage has large open kitchen, a cozy living room with a fireplace for those chilly evenings and a separate dining area. The covered porch at the water's very edge offers comfortable seating, flower baskets and fine water and mountain views. There are three small bedrooms, one has a queen, one a full bed, and the third bedroom has two twins. There is one 3/4 bath. Just off Blue Hill's Parker Point Road on Mackay Lane, the village is 1/2 a mile in one direction and the Country Club is 1/8th of a mile in the other direction. Across the bay is a splendid view of the village of Blue Hill with the mountain in the distance and the steeple of a church nestled in among the roof tops of the town. Chipmunks and red squirrels scamper about in the nearby woods, and seals frolic in the bay in front of the house. Depending on the tide, there is fine swimming, (albeit chilly!) for about 2/3rds of the time, and during low tide, one can watch long legged egret and heron strutting about. A rowing dinghy and a kayak are available to guests upon signing a waiver. A bench at the end of a nearby point offers a fine place for meditation, peace and quiet. The Bunglaow and Bungalhigh can be rented together to accommodate parties of six, and the homeowners are available to assist where needed, but they will value your privacy if you so desire.

I love that we have Contra Dances at the Town Hall
and I love the steel band concerts
at the Town Park during the summer months,

I love the tide that comes in and goes out and the battle between the crows and seagulls over our bay at sunset time in the summer. I love the fire flies in June. I love the smell of the mud flats at low tide and the scent of wood smoke in the fall. I love the concerts given by the Bagaduce Chorale and Pops Night at the George Stevens Academy on the Fourth of July. I love the house at the top of the hill on the way to Ellsworth that has the brightly colored glass balls hanging from their tree. I love our Library where people can go to read and be entertained. I love the flowers of spring, the blues and pinks of the Lupin in June the scent of the Valarium in July and the fields of yellow Golden Rod in September. I love the fog that rolls in over the bay and the drama and lightening of an August thunder storm. I love our Mountain that stands guard over us. I love that we have a theater of our own and churches. I love our Blue Hill Fair with its rides and crafts, produce and farm animals. I love that our head selectman doesn’t mind being dunked in a tub of water at the town fair and that our tax collector organizes blue berry pie eating contests. I love the beauty that abounds everywhere, in every season, at any time of the day, no matter the weather. I LOVE BLUE HILL and The All the Remarkable People Who Make it the Way it is!
